Dental Therapist (GDC: 238948)Hello, my name is Laura and I am the dental therapist here at Barnton Dental Spa.
You may be referred to see me for hygiene appointments at the practice or primary restorative care for adults and children.
I recently qualified as a therapist from the University of the Highlands & Islands completing my BSc in Oral Health Sciences. My university was based in the highland capital of Inverness which is now very much my home away from home. Although I enjoyed my time in the highlands I am pleased to be back on the central belt.
Originally, I found my passion for dentistry in 2010 where I began training as a dental nurse here at Barnton Dental Spa. A few years after achieving my diploma in dental nursing and developing my skills I felt I needed a more hands on role with patients as this, for me, was the best aspect of my job.
I pride myself on being approachable to all patients and going the extra mile to ensure your dental experience is a pleasant one. I consistently aim to reassure where required and provide Oral Health education throughout the treatment process allowing you to gain a high standard of holistic care.
In future I would like to develop my skills by completing post graduate education focusing on aesthetic dentistry to help meet treatment needs and concerns of patients in this field.
I am absolutely thrilled to be back in the practice where my interests in the profession began and look forward to meeting you all. I hope to see some familiar faces too!
