Dr Gursimar Kaur Sekhon-Gill
DentistHello, I’m Dr. Gursimar Kaur Sekhon-Gill and I’m committed to providing top-notch dental care.
I graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2018 and began my career in Aberdare, a small town in the Welsh valleys, during my foundation training while living in Cardiff. I then returned to Southampton, where I gained invaluable experience as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at University Hospital Southampton, a major trauma centre. There, I worked with world-renowned consultants, performing biopsies, assisting with head and neck cancer treatments, and honing the life-and-death precision required in surgical skills.
I’ve earned my MJDF postgraduate diploma from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, which solidified my expertise in dentistry. I enjoy all aspects of general dentistry, but particularly cosmetic dentistry and spotting sleep disorders. I offer specialized treatments like Invisalign, composite bonding, whitening, and the Sleepwell snore guard, enhancing life quality by improving sleep. I take great pleasure in the detail and finesse required to help patients embrace a confident and healthy smile. I also cherish treating nervous patients, often engaging in friendly chats and banter to ease their anxiety. I love learning about my patients’ life experiences and finding ways to connect.
Outside of work, I’m often geeking out on dental innovations, diving into courses even on weekends. My vibrant spirit shines through in my love for traveling, food, running, hiking, photography, yoga, nature and socialising with family and friend. I am also an avid Bhangra dancer which is an energetic display of Punjabi culture. I’ve competed in and won Bhangra competitions, performing at renowned venues like Hammersmith Apollo, Wembley Arena, and Birmingham’s Barclaycard Arena. Recently, I moved from the quieter Hampshire to the lively city of Glasgow after marrying a Glaswegian. I’m currently engrossed in exploring the beauty of Scotland, one loch at a time, while humorously attempting to learn golf to keep my husband company—let’s just say I’m better at swinging dental instruments than golf clubs!
